Front LCA AVO vs Whiteline
Hey guys,
Now that Christmas is over it's time for me to start picking my suspension upgrades. So far both AVO and Whiteline offer front lower control arm bushings with increased caster. I'm wondering if anyone can make a compelling argument for one vs the other. Thanks |
damn, no one have any experience with either of these?
|
@Racecomp Engineering had AVO bushes in the front before they replaced the arm with one of their down design; @Scooby South has Whiteline bushes, I think. Both have build threads.
Edit: @Turn in Concepts might have the Whiteline pieces installed, but I'm not sure. |
I have the whiteline LCA bushings... I don't have a durometer but they are substantially more stiff than the stock one.. Power-Flex also makes some.. they have 2 different hardness's a street ver and and track ver.. What is your plan with the car??? Track??? Autocross??? just bad ass street??? Havn't gotten them installed yet... (10 degrees out) but do plan to do them here as soon as I can.. will try to do a DIY also.. I am expecting tighter Turn-in and more predictable handling..

Looking at pics of the whiteline bushings it looks like they have relief holes cut into them that should mimic a similar opening in the stock bushing. If I'm to believe moto iq's conclusion as to why the stock bushing has this I'd like to go with the WL. But I'm not sure. Im also wondering about installation and longevity differences. |
What about the Perrin ones?
|
In the end my suggestion without careful research is this: a poly bushing is a poly bushing is a poly bushing. Whichever you find cheapest is the better deal. I bought AVO steering rack bushings for my WRX*because WL ones were sold out at the time.

I thought the same thing. Then I installed both energy suspension and prothane bushing kits on different neons. I would NEVER use the energy again. Also, there are some pretty large differences in these bushings. http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop...00_cab_001.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/products/KCA434.jpg |

Just pressed the Whiteline bushings into both pivot points on my front LCAs this afternoon. Car is still in pieces and prob won't be driveable until Mon morning when I have an alignment appt.
What I did notice during the bushing install is that they are significantly firmer than the factory ones. |
Can't wait to hear your review, i'm waiting to do these bushings until i have some more miles on them and i can notice a significant difference.

Tho I have yet to install mine, I got the Perrin PSRS with caster correction.

They may be cheap but is it worth the possible hassle and will they last? |
