O god I can't even... Dude I'm so glad you're alright.
Reminds me of the time I use to work at a pet store and the African gray chewed off its leg since it got stuck in the door-and I was the only one who could help it. Fucking random I know, but looking at how messed up the back of your car was rememinded me of it. Bad times :( |
My last car looked like that after i got rear ended. In canada its a bit different, but i was stopped behind someone else who was turning- and the guy who hit me was deemed 100% at fault as well.
It was a few months ago and i still have back and neck problems have been doing physio/rmt treatments etc, all covered by insurance company. I have a lawyer handling my claim, and he pays all my bills while we keep the insurance claim open which makes things really easy for me. It's a "No Fault" claim for me, so my insurance rates will not go up as a result, and i'll keep the claim open until I feel im 100%, or they offer an injury settlement that will cover future therapy, and potential loss. I was also paid out for the value of the car lost in the claim as it was a total loss- I was also able to strip all the aftermarket parts off the car, including wheels etc. You may also want to consider owner retention on the vehicle if your insurance company offers it. I did it on a previous car where I paid them the salvage value which is usually ~$2500 and kept the car, and still got my total loss cheque. In my case it was a 91 skyline gtr, they were trying to hose me on the total loss value so it was my only option... I ended up parting out the wrecked car for about $10,000. If your engine/transmission bits etc are still in decent shape then it may be worth your while. Wheels, seats, engine/tranny, ecu should move pretty quickly and they are fairly valuable. Worth more then the scrap price of the car probably. |
Ouch
Ouch that looks bad.

I have the option of getting a brz limited. Is it worth it?

You may have a better chance at negotiating the Subaru, if you're worried about the final total from your insurance and there seems to always be a few more around. There are plenty of threads here listing the difference between the two. Was there anything you didn't like about the FR-S? For instance if you really hated not having HIDs then yeah I guess you would think a BRZ is worth it. If you really hate those Red inserts in the seat or the faux carbon dash pattern then you'd think it's worth it. |
Wow dude. Sorry to hear about your car but glad everyone is ok
