Engine oil light briefly flashes after start up

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if I'm over sensitive or something but I realize my engine oil light will blank for a second right after I start the car and then it goes away almost immediately.

I know it might be because the oil pressure needs to build up after sitting for a longer period of time, I'm just wondering if all FRS/BRZ are like this?

:thanks:

100% normal operation :-)

I think you meant that you oil light will "blink", not "blank".

It might just be a normal thing as the sensors must need to receive some sort of blanking signal (correct microcontroller terminology) at start up to make sure nothing is stuck on. Take a look at another car to compare.
I wouldnt worry unless it stays on a while, but it couldnt hurt to tell the dealer next oil change just in case.

Sounds like fairly normal operation but just to be safe check your oil level (which should be done periodically anyways)

if your not using an OEM oil filter then the anti drain valve may be bad causing the oil pump to have to fill the oil filter first.

Anyone can chime in? I'm noticing this too.
