First blizzard here in central Iowa and first snow with my frs.... Took 45 min and three attempts to get it into the garage because of a small hill.... This is the first time since I got the car in November that I have even missed my old 2003 outback....

Snow tires. A must.

2nd gear helps.

Snow tires? Depends on the snow.

I have oem Bridgestone all seasons. Not everyone can afford snow tires so I don't really appreciate the name calling. But I got it in by going around my complex and going in from the other way.

did you try starting off in second gear? just wondering if that really helps on hills

All seasons in a RWD car are going to do jack in the snow.

Can't afford winter tires?... You bought the wrong car man...

I knew right away when I purchased this car I would have to spend some money on new footwear... (Before all mods) No questions asked!

The stock tires for this car is a joke...they're meant to be tracked or be used on a super hot summer day.

First rule of thumb of owning a RWD vehicle... A set of winter steelies is a MUST.

it's not more expensive to have a set of winter tires ..
when you crash your car you'll see it

add back of sand
gently in 2nd
brake early accelerate SLOW outta corners

no different than any other rwd sports car

Come to Texas... Year round summer tires. (Still wearing shorts and short sleeves) :P

Buy some snow tires.

You need snow tires. I lived in Sweden and over there no one cares about 4 wheel drive because they have snow tires, even in places where the roads are not salted no one really cared about 4 wheel drive. Get studded tires. Those things grip amazingly well on snow and smooth ice.

Uhh not really. Snow is snow. Snow tires will always out perform all seasons, and will always be a safer choice.

Well if your driving on ice, i wanna see your snow tires save you now. Or AWD. :lol:
