Long Island - Best Roads

Post your favorite roads / routes for some spirited late night Sunday morning drives.

Off the top of my head:

The LIE Service Road from about exit 37 to 40.
–not the most technical but plenty of fun when it's empty.

Charles Lindberg Blvd that runs around Nassau Community College.

Ocean Ave is a given down by Jones Beach.

The road that leads up into Lloyd Harbor.

I'd like to export the routes from the GPS with the trip recorder eventually.

Robert Moses Causeway / bridges and turnaround at the water tower. although the end of that route may be out of commission for awhile

Be careful of spirited driving on LIE / SSP / NSP at those hours. When meeting my fishing buddies at 3-5am I used to get pulled over pretty often when I had my integra. They are definitely profiling during those hours.

Will keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip man.

I've been on the RM Causeway but never down to the beach over there.

i would beg to differ about charles lindbergh blvd as i take that every day on my way to work. the strip of charles lindy between the light at ncc going west towards the fork in the road SUCKS especially the middle lane to many bumps even for me on just a pro-kit. maybe the part after the health & human services traffic light back up to ncc is smooth/ok but thats about it.

I'll have to try check it out. I haven't been on it in years to tell you the truth.

The road heading towards Huntington Village Main street is a great twisty road up a hill. Have to be careful of cyclists on nice days though.

I don't know specific roads, but when i go to Suffolk County around Riverhead, its hard not to find great roads. Sometimes empty, sometimes not. Depends on day and hour.

Some days i just head for Suffolk County with the FRS and get lost on purpose, i always find these amazing roads. Tons of desktop picture type roads too...

And sometimes you won't be the only one letting the back tires loose...

Yea it's a great website - yes I ride... But get yourself off LI and up to the Bear Mtn area - nice roads up there and not too far. Yup used to take motorcycle trips up to Bear mtn on weekends when I lived on LI.

I remember some of the backroads off of 25A being nice over in Westbury from when I went to school out there.

I heard Sweet Hollow Road between Jericho Tpke and Old Country Rd is nice. ;)

Be warned that it is a 2 way, but seems to only have space for 1.5 cars.
