CA-FI Dashlinq line 2013
1 Attachment(s)
*This might be more OT since is not even out or ever install in a frs/brz. BUT if you r thinking of upgrading HU maybe waiting a month is not a bad idea.
"Same as Ca-Fi’s predecessor systems, the Dashlinq line is headed by a 2Din universal system, but it comes with a larger 6.95 inch multi touch screen and enables zoom in maps and enlarges pictures and text only by spreading the fingers on the screen. True to the motto ‘less is more’ Ca-Fi made another cosmetic change by reducing the control buttons. Beside the ‘eject’ button for the optical drive, Ca-Fi is following the standards of Android™ devices, with ‘home’, ‘menu’, ‘back, ‘volume’ and the ‘power’ button. In addition to that, a full support of the steering wheel control keys keeps the usual comfort for the drivers" TECH SPECS Ca-Fi Dashlinq 2Din universal: • OS: Android™ Ver.: 2.3.4 • 6.95” Digital Touch Screen, 16:9 aspect, 800*480pixel • CPU: Freescale iMX51 • Bluetooth free hands telephony& music streeming • Steering wheel control support • Digital Sound Processor • Dual Zone Support • Radio Tuner • 9 Band EQ setting • Connect with Internet via 3G or Wi-Fi (optional) • GPS navigation • AM/FM Tuner: FM/AM/MPX/ Stereo Receiver • Audio output amplifier: 4*45W Max • Built in SD reader (up to 32GB) • USB • Button back-up light color: Green or Red • Anti-shock mechanism (ESP) "The Dashlinq line starts with a retail price of Euro 499" http://innotrends.com/global/wp-cont...versal-695.jpg http://innotrends.com/global/wp-cont...anneldelay.jpg http://innotrends.com/global/wp-cont...bluetooth2.jpg http://innotrends.com/global/wp-cont...2012/11/FM.jpg http://innotrends.com/global/wp-cont...EQ-Setting.jpg |
I saw this. I don't know how much of a fan I am since their current multitouch unit has more car friendly buttons on it (and a volume knob). That might affect the usability of it. Although, I'm probably going to write a car-media launcher which could remedy that.

I wish one of the Android head unit manufacturers would move to 4.X for the OS.

I'd really like to see something larger than the ubiquitous 800x480 resolution that's already been out for over 3 years now. I would certainly like a higher number of pixels to play with for maps, and it'd be quite nice to be able to view some 720p videos when waiting for someone, etc.

No Torque App for this unit :(

When watching videos, the tablet is used for general background noise or time-killing, usually while my hands are busy with something else. The HDTV and surround system are more than capable at consuming HD content when I'm really looking to dig in and watch something. In pretty much every case, though, those extra pixels in both directions are more noticeable to me than the bump from 800x480 to 960x540 was when I first got a QHD resolution phone, even though I usually use it further away from my face. Perhaps it's more the percentage of screen real estate that isn't being used by the unimportant stuff (navigation bars in web browsers, buttons, etc.) than the actual resolution? |

Btw, speaking of resolutions, you ever try reading CryEngine 3 console output in a 384x1080 (WxH) window? Freaking nightmare @.@ |

Why did you have a console window with a width of 384? |
Is there a release date for this head unit?
