Warranty Work?

Hey everyone, with Winter Coming up - I wanted to get some work done before I store the Zed.

What issues have you gotten fixed under warranty in CANADA?

My Issues:

Poping noise from trunk
Condensation in rear taillights
Condensation in DRL
Crickets :(

I haven't had it fixed yet, but my driver-side door and fender don't line up so they sent me to a body shop to get a quote. The shop said they can adjust the hinge and fender to line it up. I've had a quote for the work made and Subaru has said they will pay for the work directly.

The windshield washer stops working after < 1L of fluid is used, and works again if I put more fluid in, and this has only happened when it's cold. After adding fluid (RainX), it starts to work again. The dealer said it's likely ice in the reserve tank, so I'm waiting to see what happens once the original fluid has been replaced with RainX.

Thankfully I have no other warranty issues (I've had enough non-warranty issues with a hit and run on the rear bumper and a crunched roof from a malfunctioning car wash door).

Here are a few pictures of the door. Where it meets the fender it sits in about the depth of a finger, whereas on the passenger side it is flush. The bottom and top of the door are both flush; it's only near the fender. It's hard to photograph. I didn't notice it when it was clean, but when it gets dirty the mud passes over a two inch section of door leaving a clean strip, making it obvious.

if the rear edge of your door lines up to the rear 1/4 panel, your problem is likely fender line-up... not the door...

I had the rear popping fixed. It took them almost two weeks of having my car to diagnose and fix though. They eventually found it to be a bad spot weld in the rear shelf and had their body shop weld it up.

I also had the windshield cowling tapping away at highway speed so they replaced that.

One issue that is driving me insane (but they didn't hear) is the passenger seat slider bar rattling.

I had two quotes for the work done, one from the place Subaru recommended which said both needed adjustment, and then a high-quality shop where I'm already getting the roof and bumper repaired at, and that place said fender only. I'm planning to tell Subaru I want the second place to do it (their quote was also cheaper because they said only the fender, so I think Subaru should be ok with that).

The door is flush at the rear and also at the top and bottom of the front (it's just the middle), so I think you're right and I was a little leery of the place Subaru recommended because they first said only the door hinge until I asked about the fender and then they said probably both.

When they weld and fix the car, won't it cause rust in the future?

Well it's inside the car, but they also painted over the area (even though it's hidden under the upholstery.)

I have had a loose right sideview mirror replaced and I'm getting my driver side taillight replaced on Friday. Dealership still hasn't told me if scion canada issued a tsb for the crickets yet.:mad0259:

I had the small window at the front of the driver's side door replaced due to torn weatherstriping. The window/weatherstriping are one piece, and had to be replaced as a unit. IIRC, it took about a week to get the part, and less than an hour to do the repair.

i had to get the battery replaced and the car starter a few times as they fucked it up!
