Cams

Anyone selling cams for these cars yet?
something like a 264 with a bit more lift?
would go nicely with a reflash

Pssh...doesn't cost me extra to install...then again I would do it myself!

and you'll lose low end torque, if you care about that.

Not neccessarily, I plan on doing cams and the ferrera street package along with ported heads, etc at 60k miles when it's time to change the plugs.

On my VW R32 with schrick 264/268 I gain torque on low end and power on top end with a tune.
Thank's to the tuning ability of VVT. it was a win win.
original are something like 254 on VW R32.
Let's hope it's the same on this car.

I'd be interested to see how you'll manage to change the laws of physics. Long duration/High lift is bad for low end torque. That's one of the main reasons for variable valve lift/duration systems. And ported heads can easily hurt low end torque too, especially on a direct injected engine. You lose combustion efficiency.

I never mentioned any cam specs because honestly until testing is done we don't know what they may or may not be capable of. Not sure how ported heads could hurt either but I'm sure we'll see over time.

Velocity and charge motion are combustion's friends. Opening up ports and longer/more valve open reduce velocity so more rpm (piston speed) is needed to match the intake velocity of the original motor.

I'm still waiting for cam options. Surely it can't be long now before we see some 290+ duration and high lift cams. I don't care about low end torque, because race car!
