TRD exhaust system
 

Has anyone on here had any experience with TRD exhaust for our FRS/BRZ? Im planning to get it from Toyota. Its almost $1000 i think. Is it worth the price? Thanks in advance guys.

@JackSmiley have it. i kinda like it too..its just too pricey. u can get it from toyotapartsoutlet site for $940 shipped, not sure.

I bought my FRS with it from the dealer, got a good deal on it, love it, my fav exhaust.

I think it is a ripoff for what it offers. $1000 can get you an entire headerback system from Nameless. Seems quite overpriced for just the TRD system. 500 dollars of that is the TRD logo on it.

trd has the deepest tone

not by far, im curious about the drone. In my experience round narrow mufflers always drone.

Any dyno pics of it?
Whats the gain?

On the highway cruising I can barely hear the exhaust, so I don't think drone is any issue with this exhaust.

I have also bought it with my FR-S at the dealer, i got it for 800$.

I got mine for close to that, as long as you know someone i think you can get it for a good price. If my guy had charged me the 1k for it I wouldnt have gotten it.

Perrin might be a good alternative but, if you like the exhaust tips of the TRD, you'll pay the price. @Got3n and I are going to compare sounds next time we have a local get together. Both are deep toned. Perrin resonated might be a tad quieter but, I have the MOTIV op and catted front pipe so it might be a pretty close toss up. Had the TRD been available at a better price, I would have opted for it.

This is normally true if it's a straight through muffler running parallel to the pipe like Invidia N1. Not true for lateral mufflers that use a side entry like perrin, TRD, and Isis.

The perrin is round and narrow and does not drone.
