Door Ajar Light will not turn off

So like the title says, my door ajar light will not turn off, and when I set my dome lights to door mode, it thinks the doors are open and will not turn off, this happens with my car off and the doors closed and locked as well.

I'm hoping that, like the window reset, this requires something simple like resetting the door ajar light.

The funny thing is the window's auto up/down when opening the doors works fine. When I open the door and press the rubber button in the door sill (the one that's used to sense when the door opens and closes) the windows do the auto up/down.

Any one else have this problem? I certainly hope that I am not the only one.

I'd check all the sensors including the TRUNK

Tim_Asphalt_FRS 12-17-2012 01:56 PM

Make sure the trunk is closed.

Aznek - I'm guessing you are in IT or engineering - classic over analysis of a simple problem - don't worry we're all guilty of it ;)

Sometimes the sensors get stuck, sometimes the trunk is not totally closed. I work selling cars and its hilarious how many ppl will come into the dealership cuz they can't figure out that exact problem. Or they are wonder what that symbol is on their dash ( usually TPMS, most of the time I don't even have to go out and look at the car when they ask.)

I have the similar issue. After installing the LED, when I switch to DOOR, the LED has really dim light coming out, even when I was driving. For sure all my doors are closed, trunk is closed. When I switch to OFF, it will turn off, switch to ON, it will turn on in full power. Anyone knows what is the problem?? I don't have the issue with the stock bulb.

Ken from HID PowerHouse, really good in customer service! he helped me out trying to solve the problem. I thought because his LED, but it is not. His LED is great and totally fine...

Your door is ajar.

No it isn't, it's a door!
