The best way to protect my car paint from the beginning
Hi guys, i have checked a lot of topics and i can't take a decision, i need help please.
I need to make a choice between : -Opti-Guard -Opti-Coat -Clear Bra -A Good Wax, many times a year One precision, i really love wax my cars and i'm going to drive it during the winter. What is the best? One of my friend have a Clean Bra on the hood and on front bumper and i love it. He have a white BRZ. What is your opinion about the Clean bra? do you know if this is a good idea to take it from the dealer? I don't have the car yet, i will probably receive it in February in the Raven Color. :happyanim::party0030::thumbup: |
You can do all of them! They each have benefits.
I would get it polished out then Opti coatings, either one will be fine. If you want to clear bra the front clip that will help with rock chips. If you want to later on get more clear bra done you can do that easily over the OC. Since you love to wax your car, you can easily do that over OC. It might not stay bonded as long but will be fine. Cheers, GREG |
Opti coat and guard are same thing , coat is consumer and guard is for professional detailers , I have opti guard and it's very good , makes maintenance super easy and it covers everything.
I personally hate trim lines on 3m so I looked into Xpel, but it's retarted expensive -AKA |

Cheers, GREG ps. If you get a clear bra, you need to find someone that will tuck and roll the bra around all the areas and not just install a kit that will have lots of edges. I've also seen guys try and cut down bras on the car, only to leave cut marks in the paint. You need to really research out the best |
A thought on all those Resins and Bras, I like her bare

On opti's website it says opti coat (opti gaurd) , they are the same thing .. They just made one stronger than the other , hence only professionals can use it, "durability for opti coat (opti gaurd) unlimited" - that's according to the site .

Thank you all for your opinion, i will probably going to apply a good wax many times and saving a lot of money.

if you choose the paint protection film (clear bra) I wouldn't have the dealer do it. A respectable detailing shop that also offers PPF will decontaminate and correct the paint prior to installation. The dealership isn't doing that. any existing defects in the paint will be locked in beneath the PPF With all that said, I do enjoy waxing a car and trying different LSPs. So if youre the DIY type, with the time to stay on top of it, then go that route. It'll protect the paint but no resistance to marring like Opti-Coat. or the longevity |
Thanks for your opinion again and yes, Bryan, i will not take the clear bra from the dealer now.
Have your an aproximativ cost for this? Maybe for the front bumper the hood and the mirror? Do you think the dealer is more expensive? |
I was thinking about plasti dip clear for a bra

I know, you have probably perfectly reason but i don't have garage because am in a apartment.
My car will be Raven, less chance to discolored compare to the Red for exemple. |
