Greddy Set to Build Scion FR-S for Ken Gushi in 2012

http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/blog/...-gushi-in-2012

We have more information on this Scion FR-S build happening with Ken Gushi next season! It sounds like RS*R is taking a backseat like we posted a rumormill of earlier and they have a new company taking over building of the Scion. The Toyota GT-86 has been everywhere this weekend and we documented some production photos of what the car looks like as a production model. With a relationship already in place between Scion Racing and Greddy (see the Scion tC above) it sounds like they are going to call on them to complete the 2012 Scion FR-S build for Ken Gushi. We cannot wait to see what they will cook up for the new drifting season.

Lol, I can see a Greddy turbo kit for the FR-S coming in the near future.

Damn can't wait for that!!! will be sooo awesome...

But don't they normally mulest the car more then just a turbo kit ie but in huge V8s...?

There are still a bunch of turbo 4cyl cars in Formula D.

I seriously doubt a V8 will fit under the sloping hood, but i may be wrong.

By a bunch you mean barely a handful right?

You must be thinking ProAM.

NorCalRider 11-29-2011 06:34 AM

Probably about 10-15 cars, so I would say more then a handful. Most of them are sr20's, with a few f20 swaps in the ae86's. Lol I could go count if you wan't, but no big deal. The last few years most went to Ls swaps or Vq's.

while i wouldnt doubt greddy making a turbo kit for the FR-S (although it would need low-comp pistons to really be practical, or some crazy ethanol injection)...

im pretty sure with the unlimited resources and no need to comply with federal/state emission requirements, they will most likely just drop a WRX engine in a competition drift vehicle.

and i've been asking on the scion racing facebook page when we will start seeing some testing with gushi. nice to finally see some results!

btw ken if you're reading this, thanks for the zipties on my camaro at adams. :happy0180:
