Holy thread resurrection Batman, but I just installed this exhaust over the weekend and felt like chiming in on how sweet this exhaust sounds... the tone is deep AF! And it looks amazing too.
Combined with the uncatted Perrin front pipe that I already had, it's pretty damn loud. I'm quite sure I wake up the entire street with cold starts, so I may have to throw the factory front pipe back on soon to see if that tones it down a bit. Despite being a loud exhaust, it's quite easy to shut it up on the freeway with the right throttle input. Hums a bit under light acceleration but I wouldn't describe it as "drone". WOT is audible sex. According to the butt dyno, car also feels torquier down low, but not sure if that has something to do with the Perrin inlet hose I installed at the same time.. One tip sticks out further than the other (only noticeable to me), I think this may have to do with the Perrin front pipe being slightly shorter than the factory one (took a bit of force to mate it to the midpipe), so I should be able to correct that when I swap out the FP. Overall, great system @ARK Performance  [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3azs5o9YCxA"]ARK DT-S with Perrin Overpipe & Test Pipe - YouTube[/ame] Update for anyone who cares: Putting the stock front pipe back on toned it down a bit, and now it is just a nice deep tone without the obnoxious cold-start. The tips are now perfectly aligned as well: I was using the factory donut gasket on the Perrin front pipe which added a bit of extra clearance between that and the midpipe. |
Any comments on how an unresonated midpipe + UEL manifold makes this sound?
