Alternator pulley torque setting??

Got a full pulley set (crank, water pump, alternator), I know the torque settings for the crack and water pump but cant find the alternators torque recommendations anywhere.

Does anyone have any idea of what it might be or where I can find info on this??

Thanks

Did you ever find out the torque specification for the alternator pulley nut ?

I really need to know this too.

Thanks !

79.7 lbft according to the SM.

Suggestion in case you haven't already read about it, crack and tighten the bolts for the water pump and alternator with the belt still on and in 6th gear, otherwise it's a pain in the butt.

Thanks for the info from the service manual !

I have 6 of the 11 (?) factory Subaru service manuals & I could not find this info & I looked until my eyes bled !

I emailed these manufacturers of aluminum alternator pullies & got the following responses on nut torque :

Perrin--------------- 55' lbs.

GFB ---------------- 60' lbs.

Beatrush ----------- 51.6' lbs. (70 Nm conversion)

Tomioka ------------ 80' lbs.

Someone stated that the alternator turns clockwise thus the nut is "self-tightening" ?

My gut is telling me to go with the 55' lb. torque setting since it is aluminum not steel as the factory one.

It bothers me that this pulley is not "keyed" in some fashion to the shaft to keep it from spinning.

Is the alternator shaft slightly tapered ?

The Tomioka pulley does not look tapered.

Anyway I have one of these coming : [ame="http://www.amazon.com/OTC-4475-Stinger-Grooved-Pulley/dp/B005J3KZPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406506003&sr=8-1&keywords=otc+4475&dpPl=1"]Amazon.com: OTC 4475 Stinger Grooved Pulley Strap Wrench: Automotive[/ame] to hold the pulley for removal & installation; sure hope it works.
