Mesh grills, what do you think?

I've been thinking of doing a mesh grill on my Whiteout FR-S and found that GrillCraft is now making one for our cars. What do you guys think? I like them. I'm certain I would go with the black unless someone would PS a silver one on a white FR-S.

I have never been a fan of the look. Maybe something a bit darker and more sparse, and recessed more... I have just seen too make people do this with tin snips and some expanded metal from home depot for me to get really excited.

I think it can look good, but I don't like the one you posted at all. Too bling for me.

Grill is for hamburgers, grille is for cars.

I like the look of the black one, but it needs to be recessed more. The idea is to draw more focus to the body lines of the front bumper and not to the grille itself, making it look more aggressive. The chrome one looks like the result of a design school dropouts night of drinking bleach.

If you were my close friend asking for advice I'd say please no.

Ingen is right. The meshcraft weave is very flat and boring, it looks no better than an A/C cover.

It could look good if it were interesting weave like this, and would look good in smoked bronze stainless steel.

Whoops, meant to link to the black one not the silver. I do agree more recessed would be better, just not a huge fan of the stock grill either. Anybody seen any other alternatives?

I'd say yes to the black of it was recessed but since it's not I'd say no.

I want the airflow...and I think the stock grill is "cheesy".. so almost anything is better imo..

I was thinking about getting the black for myself actually....My only gripes are: it should be flush with the stock grille, I haven't seen anyone actually have it, and it's probably a PITA to clean bugs out of this sucker :p

i would say no

I don't care for the look. Also, living where I do I would be worried about not enough air flow in the peak summer months.

I'd like to see a different picture.

Better than stock particularly considering it looks like it replaces those super cool fake plastic grills on the sides.
