Thank you, I'm glad you got the BMW sorted out by the end of the weekend, must have been a massive relief lol.

I think there is a lot of time on the table, I don't have much seat time CW. I really get sucked into the stupid TT thing where it is hard to try different stuff or push more since a 4 off is a DQ / there are cars a second or two behind me / I need to put down a lap time.

I'd like to:

Get off the brakes earlier at 1 and carry more speed through 2
Figure out where I'm supposed to turn in at 4, I think I am too early
Not lift as early at 6
Figure out what is going on at 7
Not brake at 8 and instead carry the speed in and brake up the hill to 9
10 is important, probably run it out wider to be on throttle longer
Carry more speed into 11
Probably enter the bowl up higher since the car pushes terribly mid corner / steering is bound up and I am getting on and off the throttle to try and get the back end moving a bit
Off the brakes earlier at 14 and just lift for 15 like I could in my S2000

Yea, it was! Been fighting the brake issue for a while now. I'm working on a quick video to show how bad the vibrations were, as well as the fuel cut whiplash :(

I have pretty much the same bucket list (for both my cars).

T4 I have done a lot of experimenting there and think I have it ok. I try to turn in at the end of the right kerb then make a single big arc from T4 apex cone through to T5 exit cone. If I get it right it is just one steering input and throttle modulation to maximize corner speed.

The T6 to T7 is still a mystery to me as well, feels so awkward and trying to get the downshift in just doesn't feel right, and very slow.

I'm still getting up the courage to go faster into T8 and T11 too. I've been braking there a little bit, and it is such a waste of momentum and time, I'm sure. Although for T8, I'm not sure the GR86 could slow down quick enough on the uphill to T9, at least with stock tires. I've blown through T9 a few times trying to go faster into T9.

Same with T14/15 for me, the visuals are hard there, especially T14. We'll have to sit down at next event and share ideas!

Willow Springs IR (Big Willow)

2:20 in the morning.

1:39 in the afternoon when things cleared up.

I rarely get to run Big Willow so it was nice to get some runs in when things are not so perfect out, vs somewhat perfect conditions. Great experience imho as far as learning.

Not a very clean lap, but it got the job done

Yeah, here you go :) I'm going to try and make the Chuckwalla 86Cup events in December this year. Maybe our schedules will align

I like it a lot.

The car feels pretty aero balanced with it set one below max AoA (12* by the Verus chart). Going to max AoA noticeably makes the car pretty pushy, I haven't done a coast down test or set it to 0 AoA on a long straight to test what it is worth MPH wise though. When I compare data to my friend's TT5 GR86 he is seeing 5-7mph faster down a ~120mph straight than I am even with a couple mph lower entry speed. (117-118mph vs 124-125mph), but he is making 10whp peak more than I am and doesn't have aero.

Looking at the data that Verus has available it seems like 4* on the UCW is roughly close to the HE at 12* DF wise, but the drag looks like a toss-up. I definitely don't need the extra DF the UCW can make since I have no way to balance it.

A fair number of people have made fun of the wing in person at the track, but that doesn't mean much to me ;)

New 86Drive Challenge Street class record yesterday with a 2:01.66 at Buttonwillow CW13. Conditions were good in the first session. This lap is actually my second fastest, a 2:01.67, but the footage was a bit better and lap cleaner.

I also threw on some 255 V730s and went sub 2 in the second session, video from that coming later.
