Easy way to sell stock wheels?
Hey guys, I'm thinking of replacing my stock wheels with something else. They're on my summer tires and obviously I'm running my winter tires right now so I have a while to do this. But I was wondering if you guys know some shops or whatever that will actually buy our wheels. I see a lot of people in the Members Classified section getting stuck with their stock wheels and I wanted to see if there was a way to avoid getting stuck with unwanted wheels.
I'm in the GTA btw. I'm pretty sure it's obvious but I'm a noob to all this stuff so any help is appreciated! Thanks! |
The stock wheels are nice.... but everyone who is selling this is expecting to get $200+ a piece....which is much higher than what anyone looking for these wheels will want to pay.
If you want to get rid of them, I would sell for cheap. If you need to get more money from them.... I wouldn't count on it. |
Sell them on TC and prius forums
Sold mine for $500 without TPMS |

Good luck with the sale. As for your original question about selling, just post them up on the B/S/T page and your (high) price and see what you can get.... and post on other forums that these wheels fit also.... you'll probably be low balled here more than other car forums just because we've all seen this thread now! |

On a side note: I get why some TC and Prius owners might want these wheels, but why are some people here buying them? Damaged your own stocks? |

I just want a second set, I like having a second set.

I Successfully sold mine to another forum member. I got my $800 asking price. The rationalle behind it was that after pricing an OEM wheel from the Dealership and seeing the markup on them suddenly makes $800 seem like not a bad price at all.
FYI the stock wheel without rubber is just over $600 per wheel from Toyota. |
It's ridiculous what they charge for oem wheels, considering what you can get aftermarket for (and much nicer/lighter too).
You pretty much have to sell them locally, because shipping is too expensive. Try listing on http://toronto.kijiji.ca/ or http://www.usedtoronto.com/ |
