Two thumbs up for this simple performance upgrade!

I guess this is considered an engine modification due to it being in the engine bay?

Interesting battery tie down plate...

Wonder how the 11lbs Braille handle in extreme cold weather.

srtblake 12-30-2012 02:51 AM

whats the CCA compared to OEM?

Captain Insano 12-30-2012 08:52 AM

We went over this in another thread. I think OEM is 390 and the braille 11 lb is 370 IIRC. I will let Jeremy verify.

Here is the other thread I mentioned...

Are the battery terminals like a quick connect? If so, any chance you sell those separately?

They are not quick connect. :( They use the stock harness portions and bolt down like normal.

Captain Insano 01-03-2013 10:13 PM

That battery is the Braille B14115 model right?
Weight is about 11.5lbs from spec sheet.

How much is it for just the battery fastener?

Not a big fan of this, from the looks of the picture the posts are knurled brass connectors. As an electrician this screams a poor electrical connection that can overheat with too much load and places where water can get in between the stud and clamp and cause a galvanic reaction (two dissimilar metals) and corrosion. While this may be fine for a race car...not so good for someone who needs a reliable daily driver.

Those Knurled studs are not meant to use the stock battery clamps...they are meant for a crimp type or solder type O-ring connection that the brass knurled contacts tighten down onto... Studs meant for OEM type battery clamps are smooth for large electrical contact area.
