Hey! My FIRST car was a 1986 hand-me-down Saab 900s hatchback! It wasn't an amazing car in the least, but it was comfy, 5speed, and I was the only one driving such a car at my HS.

Whats wrong with Saab stories?

Edit: Read the article, wtf is GM doing selling Hummer to the chinese?

God, I hate GM. I swear I told myself this would happen as far back as when GM bought Saab out completely.

Why? The pre-GM Saabs were awesome, albeit quirky, cars that were loved in mountainous areas like Vermont, Colorado, or here in British Columbia.

I had an old '90 Saab 900 Turbo with my dad. I LOVED that car.

I think GM sold the engineering to China, so it can be built as a Chinese made car.

Saab's not dead yet! I hope this deal goes through. I'm all for GM bands dying, but not the ones they bought out and ruined.

My first car was a saab. It was a good car too, a pre-GM model (1986).

It definitely had a styling you had to get used to, but it was nonetheless, a good car.

Now? Not many. GM's dilution of a once iconic, quirky brand to just another badge variant was pretty thorough.

Again, though, my answer was clear in my first post. Go to areas where there are lots of elevation changes, and foul weather. You'll still see plenty of the older, again (i.e., GM-less) Saabs.
