Here's a solution a couple of us came up with here in AZ:

Sorry for the shitty photo quality, cell phone pictures are like that.

Yeah, problem for all of us. Waiting for first service to rise this as a issue.
Btw, did Toyota charge anyone for the carpet set?
I was and argued that these should be standard issue from Japan.

Nice, the other concern is the carpet under the accelerator, which is also taking wear.

My right heel rests on the plate quite easily. The wear on the angled carpet (not the floor mat) is so minimal that I'm not even worrying about it, the heel wear in my floor mat was awful after only 6000 miles.

Wow, That's very clever and looks great. Would you mind If we replicated your idea. I would only consider doing this for my 86 mats later when they start wearing out. Only have a full 10km on the ODO. Picking up from the dealer next week...

I just bought a set of standard rubber mats. They work well and are easy to dust off. Wish I could get a toyota rubber mat...

my driver side mats are doing the same, hate it!!!

Nope, they definitely come with the mats per-installed from the factory. The dealer is taking a chance.

I haven't noticed any wear - what am I looking for exactly?

You can either replicate and make you own, or you can buy these from me :happyanim:

Admittedly, we're a really small operation, but we're only selling these for $30 plus shipping. I have an initial batch of 5 made up then we'll make more as they sell. Just a thought. They are all water-jet cut for precision then sanded smooth and bent to the proper angle.

The OE mats are quite stupid considering there is no smooth patch for your heels to slide. Not smart in a driver's car at all! Such a well sorted car let down by the mats. My dealer mentioned they were included in the on-road costs...

He's taking a very fat chance. I saw my car when it landed here and the mats were already in, straight from the factory.
