Strange pulsating noise driver side footwell

Recently my car has developed a pulsating sound coming from the driver side foot well. I found a clip on youtube simulating the sound here:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZWtM-tjLHI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZWtM-tjLHI[/ame]

I have a MT
Sound occurs after several minutes of driving
Only happens while idling

Any ideas what is causing the sound? I hope it's not the throwout bearing per the video's description....

Sound from my car.

Sounds like it may be the fuel pump chirp along with the direct injection.

It sounds nothing like either of those. It's a pulsing sound, not a chirp or a chatter.

OP, I hear what you're trying to show us, but I have no clue. You aren't crazy or just hearing things...well, you are hearing things because it's there.

*at the 0-2(and again at 29+) second mark you CAN hear the faint cricket sound in the background. But it's the "wub wub wub" UFO sound that he is concerned about.

I hear the UFO sound (fistpoint's description) in your 2nd post video on my car too sometimes. But yours is like 10 times or even 100 times louder than mine. Mine can't be heard unless I pay close attention. There is only one other person who noticed it without me bringing it up. I was wondering what this noise too. I didn't worry about mine because it's hardly noticeable. I would be worried if mine gets as loud as yours. I'm interested to know what this noise too.

Edit: I had a feeling it was coming from where the sound generator is located. But I'm not sure since I've never tried to hunt down the source of the noise.

Does it goes away if you clutch in?

I have this exact same sound. Definitely in addition to my super loud crickets.

Trouble shooting 101:

Drive the car to replicate the sound, jack it up and start narrowing the sound down?

Might be eaiser than posting a video online...

Anyone of you get that checked out at the dealer? I started getting the same noise too...

sounds like clutch. I had a nissan pickup with a throwout bearing that sounded like that. I ran it 17 years without a hitch, I hope your's is no problem.

BTW guys, thought I'd revive this.. Mine went away when they replaced the DI pump for crickets.. Makes sense with when it was audible. Free under warranty. :)
