Posts deleted constantly
 

I get that I am opinionated, and I get that there are forums and there are moderators.

I have never seen this shit elsewhere, that mods just delete posts

I have had a half dozen of my posts simply deleted. not the first time, not the last.

Hopefully someone will read this before it too gets deleted.

They said they would PM us when I asked in the other thread... mine have been deleted as well without contact.

I too havent seen mods on any other forum do this so... nonchalantly. What gets me is the threads that ask stupid 'read the manual' questions are left to blubber on and on.

Fair moderators but the deletions make it seem like a sensitive etiquette forum rather than a cool spot for car guys.

I think its a re-post thing. I know mine get deleted, but thats just cause I'm terrible at search. Hopefully your deleted posts arent new subjects that could be helping other less informed BRZ/86 owners, like myself.

If you've had your post deleted it was likely against forum rules [read here], a repost, or somehow inciting.

Unfortunately, we don't have the time to always PM for every single moderated post as there are way too numerous per day.

We never call out members, but as for you gmhooker, it should be clear why your posts are sometimes removed. You have already previously been warned and yet we continue to receive complaints about your posts on a consistent basis. If it continues, posting privileges will be removed.

When we are going through the 50-60 reported posts at a time, it's hard to send a PM for every one that breaks the rules. If we are giving an infraction, then we will absolutely PM you and let you know what's up, but for regular cleanup, that's very difficult to do.

I'll try to make it more obvious why things get deleted from now on though. just don't expect us to be able to have a chat with you guys about it every time.

We could try to edit the post quoting something like "POST REPORTED & DELETED: (reason)"

It might take extra mins to go through all the reports and can get annoying, but it's one option, instead of PM'ing every single one of em. :iono:

Most of the posts I've seen you mention as being deleted recently are right there where you left them, undeleted. They were never deleted, you just couldn't find them for whatever reason.

If I cleanup a thread I'll usually post a "Thread cleaned up, keep it clean" or similar post instead of PMing 8 people with the same message. If it's a bad enough post I'll PM people and have before.
