Windshield wipers

I want to change my windshield wipers.
Now I know the sizes are 22" for the driver and 20" for the passenger.
I checked the owners manual and there is nothing on how to take them off and install. Any help? Thanx!

Already?! O_o

In a sense, this would be nice seeing as they look identical to my wife's 2010 Toyota Corolla. She's approaching 30,000 miles and it looks like she might need some new ones as well.

Why are you changing them so fast? Are the stock ones performing not so well under certain weather conditions?

No. They're fine. I just like the triple edge silicone wipers. I have them on my truck and they're awesome. When they start to streak, just clean them with water and baking soda. Good as new.

I tried to find this too, couldn't find any =\ I wanted to switch to winter wipers and then switch back to stock after winter

At the sheperds hook there is a small plastic hinged clip. Take a small flathead and lift up the hinged clip. Then slide wiper arm off of blade like normal. The asmo uniblades that are stock on 086a will be better in terms of durability and performance than any aftermarket blade. When it comes time for new wipers I would suggest replacing just the rubber element from the dealer. The rubber elements are actually very cheap from dealership.

Mine are starting to be shitty. Anybody found replacement other than at the dealer? It's one of those things I'd rather buy aftermarket than at the dealer, ugh..

Not sure what the mystery is. Any auto parts store will have replacement blades. My personal favorites are Trico Onyx blades. Really, our cars use the most common blades there are.

I know, old thread, but I'm having trouble finding a newer one to post this on.

I bought a pair of Trico Flex wipers a week ago and I installed them properly. Yesterday while it was raining the driver's side wiper just flew off and the metal hook slammed back into my windshield, thankfully not leaving a mark. I don't trust the brand now though because it's pretty scary to lose a wiper while it's raining.

The guy at Advance Auto Parts convinced me the Trico Flex were the way to go over what I usually get which is the Rain-X Latitude wipers. I still had my stock wipers (which were leaving streaks even after thorough cleaning) in my garage so I put those back on as soon as I got home.

Now I'm looking into getting replacement wiper inserts for the OEM blade housings but I called the dealer and they thought I was crazy and said "just go to autozone and get some aftermarket wipers"

Sounds like the Trico wasn't fully clipped on to the wiper arm.

I went with the Rain-X ones, fits and performs perfectly.

Bosch or Rain-X (I prefer Bosch Icons)

Trico makes the cheap stuff available everywhere, they're not a "premium" wiper brand.

The dealer is dumb as well, as they sell the refills for these wipers. Sounds like they didn't want to look in their EPC. You can find them on Amazon IIRC. I like the look of the stock wipers best as well, but their performance isn't too hot...

i'm still on my oem ones and my driver-side blade wipes super clean, but my passenger-side blade streaks and doesn't fully wipe clean anymore :(
