Jeep guy with an FR-s

Well I figured I would start one of these journals to help keep up with the progress of my car.

A little background on myself first. I am probably as country as they come, hell I live in the sticks out in East Tennessee. I have never owned a vehicle that wasn't on at least 31" tires and wasn't 4wd. So I know very very little about cars. I actually bought the FR-S on a whim, I was at my local Toyota dealer getting ready to sign the papers on a new Tacoma, but then my friend that was with me said, "Hey you should see if they have one of those new Scions." Well he went ahead and asked the guy for me and sure enough they had a firestorm Fr-s around the back of the building that they had just gotten in the day before. Well honestly it was love at first sight. I had to have this car. 1 because of it's looks and 2 simply for the fact that it is rwd. I don't do red cars so I searched around a bit and in a few days I found a whiteout fr-s about 45 minn away from me. And two weeks ago it became mine.

So I will be looking to you guys on this fourm for a lot of help and advice. I love it here so far, everyone is friendly and eager to help. Which to be quite honest surprised me at first, because the only "car guys" I've had any association with are ***s driving riced out hondas talking about how cool and fast their cars are. So thanks to everyone for being friendly and helpful.

My baby
Only thing I've done to it so far is put 1,500 miles on it and 20% window tint all the way around.

And this is what I am used to driving-big difference in the two lol

Well you know what they say about America, it was built on rednecks, white trash and blue collars.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the site. It's great seeing folks from different aspects of the automotive community coming together. I'm a little like you. I do have a background with cars but have a more extensive background in offroad. 4x4's and desert racing along with quads, dirtbikes, etc.

Most importantly, if you're an offroader, then you have some mechanical experience, so alot of the stuff we're doing with these cars will be easy for you....except for the whole having to jack up the car to do an oil change, that just sucks. I can actually sit up under my truck to work on it.

And yeah I do have some mechanical experience, but I think working on this car will be a little overwhelming. Everything is just so small and compact, I can't just beat on it with a hammer like I do to my Jeeps lol
