The ScionLAB
I did a search for "The ScionLAB" "ScionLAB" "The Scion Lab" and "Scion Lab," and got no results.
Is this a third party company fishing for information, or are they a part of Scion? I got an email from them, and while I don't mind helping, I just want to make sure they are accredited. In the email I received, it says "The ScionLAB Research Community is a partnership with Scion" Their website: www.thescionlab.com Anyone know anything about them? |
Got that too, as did my Dad for his xB. I tried filling it out but it was like 100 questions long and I got tired of it and quit.
|
I filled it out and like 3 questions in they told me they had filled their quota for people like me. Oh well. Thanks anyways guys.

Looks like the site doesn't work anymore anyway.
|
I filled it out the other day. Got in.
It's actually https://www.scionlab.com/ It was the first item in the result when I searched on Google. Looks to be a project done through Morpace which is a marketing research company. My guess is Toyota/Scion contracted them. Looks a bit like a WIP since some of the functionality is limited. Supposedly there will be more surveys, sweepstakes, forums, featured members etc. Quote:

I also got in. I'm supposed to be waiting for an email for final conformation.

it is a marketing research/feedback thing scion hired a company to do.
It isn't a scam thing, i got 2 emails to join a couple months back (one for each). the one connected to my tC didn't go through because they had enough people, the one for my xD got accepted. the site looks empty because they only have stuff in there to do if they have accepted you and let you register. once registered there are questionnaires every so often about various things, either about your car, other cars you have, what you use them for, if you have to borrow a different car, what programs or perks you would like to see scion do. they say that scion will use this information for future programs and perks. and for participating you get entered into random drawings for gift cards that a few people win every month. the first questionnaire was pretty long. but the ones afterward haven't been. the most interesting so far is a possible program that would let you "borrow" a toyota vehicle for a few days if you needed it as an added perk to buying a new scion. like a tundra, prius, camry or sienna. |
I got the email. I was sorta bummed out that they didn't accept me. Apparently they have enough female frs owners from WA. REJECTED.

I got the e-mail and signed up. Still waiting for them to update the site with surveys, etc...

I've been contacted a couple of times and I'm not joining in on this. It's the third market research group that has contacted me under the guise of working for/with Toyota/Scion. Their surveys are long and repetitive (the ones I received from other companies) and I've got better things to do.
Besides, Toyota's been running market research groups for decades. You know, those decades when they haven't produced a single model that could make you smile behind the wheel? Yeah, that's because their market research said boring and soft appealed to the most buyers. If they think that today I'm going to be a part of the same BS that has the entire nation rolling around in horrible camrys with 85 drink holders and refrigerated juice box storage, I can advise them on where they can insert their survey. -Justin |
