Best Driver's Roads Near PDX OR

Please post the roads where you can have some serious fun with your car near PDX. If you can give info about traffic and the best time to travel that would be appreciated.

Here is a short trip that only takes about 15 minutes (one way), but is great fun. It is best during the weekdays and avoid during rush hour to avoid commuters. Near Newberg and South of Hillsboro, and a few minutes from Beaverton.

German town road is a classic road and so is skyline. All lead to Portland metro area. They are usually dead at night. But I wouldn't advise going alone.

There's also the old Scenic Columbia Gorge Hwy. It's broken up into smaller sections because of the I84 construction, but any of the old highway from Troutdale to The Dalles is good. We especially like the section between Mosier and The Dalles. Very good pavement, and VERY twisty, with very little traffic or critters.

There are two roads out near German Town Rd that are just as good for fun, but much less traffic. Try Newberry Rd and Logi Trail Rd. They both go from Hwy 30 up to Skyline.

Germantown, besides its an excuse to stop by Perrin and see all the goodies...

Germantown is great if you can get on it without traffic.

It's bad because we did so much drifting up there back in the day :burnrubber:

I wonder if we could rent Pat's Acres for the day? ORP or PIR would be more fun though...

I was thinking the same thing but I doubt we could get enough people to cover the thousands of dollars that it would cost or someone to fork over the fee initially and people pay them back. All the other car clubs have track days at PIR, Audi, Lotus, Porsche, etc.... why not us. :)
