Received a letter from Sirius about NavTraffic trial
I received a letter in the mail from Sirius with the following text:
Dear [redacted], According to our records, you purchased or leased a Subaru that included a trial subscription to the XM Select package and NavTraffic. It has come to our attention that you may not have received your NavTraffic service. Steps have been taken to activate your Navtraffic service for four months. This service will expire in March 2013. Please enjoy with our compliments. The letter goes on further about the service. I remember having NavTraffic for just a few short days before it suddenly went MIA. Has anyone else received such a letter? I for one am very pleased by this. |
Did this come after contacting them about NavTraffic? I have yet to receive any documentation from Subaru or Sirius|XM about anything...
|
I received the same letter yesterday.
|
I also received this letter. I did think it was weird that when I hit the traffic button on the Nav that nothing ever showed up even though I was sitting in traffic...
On a related note, ever since I got my nav unit replaced due to some frozen pixels I haven't received anything from Sirius about my trial period ending even though I'm 7 months in at this point. |
I got the letter too, haven't tried it yet.

Yep, free for 4 months. But I live in the sticks, and really wont be driving the BRZ for about 4 months, so I just trashed it.

I just got this letter too and I guess its worth a shot testing it out.
It kinda seemed like XM radio would be extended as well, but I tried it today and the radio was locked to channel 1. Not really a bit deal, but the BT cutting in and out is really annoying me. |
I have been trying to activate the NavTraffic, but all I keep getting from SiriusXM is that my Radio ID does not show up as eligible and they can't add it, even though it worked on the day I drove the car home from the dealership.

I only see an incident list. I remember my Acura TL-S had the lane speeds which was pretty cool. However, after having an iPhone, I wish that was all integrated for free.
|
How do you verify if NavTraffic is active?
|
I logged into my XM account yesterday and noticed as well that my XM trial has been extended. I still don't understand how you active the NavTraffic though :[

However, I did get a call a month or so later that offered "three free months if I signed up for one!" So I took them up on their offer. When I called to cancel after month four, they told me my account history said I had agreed to three free months if I signed up for three, to which I said "uhhhhh nope." They said it must've been a misunderstanding and offered me another three months for free. If anything, I can definitely say about Sirius is that I got a ton of free time, and every time I had to call they were courteous and helpful. |
Never got any letter, I remember my very first day I drove the car home, the traffic was giving me random yellow triangle warnings about crashes. It was really cool, the next day I saw the old warning still on display but nothing was updated anymore or removed for that matter.
