Custom OEM Color License Plate Cover

So today I busted out the old welder, sand paper, and paint and made this little guy. It is colored the OEM color for my car (Hot lava; paint code H8R). I will have pictures of it installed on my car tomorrow. I just wanted to get your opinion of it and see if anyone think it looks nice. Any input would be appreciated and I'd be more than willing to make one for you.

EDIT: And here it is on the car:

Nice work, definitely better than a dealer plate cover. I wonder how the color match will look with the plate installed...maybe a floating type plate effect? Interested to see pics of the final install. Thinking one in a simple matte black would look good as well and compliment any of the exterior colors.

Looks pretty good, waiting to see it on your ride! Looks like you did some good work for sure!

Thanks! Yes, I can't wait to see it tomorrow as well. I'm considering painting the factory front mount if this looks good. I want it to look very clean and integrated.

Very, very nice. Being a bit of a nube, would the color number you provide allow me to get this paint from somewhere other than the dealer? Also, what type of paint did you use?

do you have holes in your trunk for the bottom of your plate to put bolts in? I dont...and I dont want to really drill.

Pretty sure none of the trunks are drilled for the bottom plate bolts.

Hehe, your paint code is "H8R".

Okay, back on topic.

I do this with a lot of my cars. The trik would be to get a license plate from that comes with flush-mounted screw covers for the top screws (and no bottom screw holes) so that everything is the same color and you can't see the screws.

I used to be able to find that type of frame at Auto Zone/ Advance Auto, but they since stopped carrying them.

+1. I would also like to know where to get paint other than dealer. Thanks,

I admire your work but honestly I prefer the chrome edge around the plate with the bracket that mounts behind the plate but just shows a thin border.
