I got some pics of both of them together, if this doesn't make you want to replace it i don't know what else will. One thing to remember when you install it is that the side with the Motiv tag on it goes toward the front of the car, i tried to put it on backwards at first thinking the tag would be at the back.

Thanks for the pics, Joe. I definitely want to add this now with their front pipe. Motiv seems to make very high quality pieces.

Very high quality, reasonable prices, great service and warranty. I should do a commercial for them...:D

Wow your stock overpipe looks like it's been to hell and back

Joe, is that rust or rail dust?

JoeBoxer 12-02-2012 12:13 AM

I had never heard of rail dust so i just googled it, i do have some very small specs in the paint that look like it. I guess it happened during transport?

There are not a lot i saw one on my rear bumper but i waxed the car today and i can't see it anymore. None of my suspension is rusty or anything either.

The stock overpipe is so beat-up looking even when brand new, it's hilarious. Crush-bent piece of shit.

Yet another nice looking piece from Motiv.

Logs showed me way out of wack with the new parts, new file is here 6 hours after sending logs. Thanks to @FA20Club.com also.

Car is running after the flash and I hear a little boxer rumble at idle. I think Toni just put my car in to beast mode.

Replacing the stock overpipe/downpipe gave me much more boxer rumble, too.

You know, I'm still waiting on my updated tune after all these intake/exhaust parts...9-10 days later, nothing.

I took and sent logs, I don't have the talent to read them like you can, but it looks like FA20club was a smart choice with that kind of response time.

Is the over pipe hidden in the heat shields... And does it bolt up to the stock exhaust just fine.. I ask because here in Cali we do have emissions, but if its in the heat shields I don't see how it would effect emissions or the visual inspection

Gixxer, yeah the overpipe is encased in factory heatshields. But due to the increased width of the aftermarket overpipes, I'm not sure the factory heatshields will fit over them if you're trying to fool techs/CHP.

I'm not sure as far as fitment for a setup that would go stock header->Motive Overpipe->stock downpipe, but I think it should be OK. My Nameless overpipe/downpipe combo fit up to the stock exhaust manifold location just fine.

Also, I'm not sure how techs will be able to pinpoint the overpipe on a visual inspection in these cars. It's not conspicuous. I'd be more worried about the downpipe..

any idea on a packaged deal with a HFC instead?

Thanks for the kind words but i only look at a couple things in the log, Toni is the one that told me they were out of wack. Honestly i didn't look at the ones today because i knew they were off from the added parts. AFR is the main thing i look at, i check some other stuff too just to make sure nothing jumps out as being way out of spec or dangerous.

I haven't seen the Perrin up close but they look very good too. I love the weld quality on the Motiv though you see some pipes that are all polished up and shiny but the welds are no where near the same quality. Perrin and Motiv are the only two out right now that i like that offer the Overpipe. I like the MXP front pipe too if you get that exhaust.

Perrin non catted front pipe and overpipe $690 with 5 year warranty
Motiv test pipe and overpipe $560 with lifetime warranty

Add $100 for catted front pipes on either.
