ECUTEK cable with license

ECUTEK cable w/USB dongle. $300 shipped

I traded my FRS and i wont be having any need for my cable with my license. As per John visconti himself, you could use another persons cable as long as you buy a tune, which you could get from any vendor here that sales tunes. I till recently was working with Toni from FA20 club, amazing guy and very fast tuner, had my tunes from my logs back in the same day but of course you coulg get a tune from anyone. The cables run 350 plus shipping which for me was 375 total shipped price from John.

Damn thats cheap

ill86 12-01-2012 10:17 PM

Is this license transferable? Thread title says cable w/ license. I'll just pay for a tune file. Ready to buy! :-)

JoeBoxer 12-01-2012 10:20 PM

What did you trade for?

bakerr6 12-01-2012 10:21 PM

if he doesn't want it, lmk. I'm positive it'll be gone

yomny 12-01-2012 10:24 PM

I will, he's confirming something and he will get back to me. You got second bakerr6. Thanks. I traded it for an STI limited '13.

Doesn't the ECUTek license marry itself to your VIN # as registered by the ECU once you've used it?

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't believe the license is transferable to another ecu. Waiting for an official response. If so, this is a sweet deal! :-)

My understanding was until you used it, you could sell the cable/license to anyone else, but once the license hits an ECU, it becomes married to that and if you want to use the same cable with a different car, you have to purchase a new license from ECUTek by way of an authorized Tuner. Otherwise we could just keep passing around the same license and all save some money!

bakerr6 12-01-2012 10:30 PM

what foobar said is correct. As long as he did not use it, the license is still there.
