A rather long video, but reasonably well done. And, no, he does not get to drive the FRS at Laguna Seca, so do not expect that at the end. He does get a ride in a Skip Barber Mazda3.

I really enjoyed this. It's basically a review but he goes through all the details and describes the whole essence of this car really well. Thanks for sharing!

goke186 12-02-2012 04:07 AM

This to date is one of the best reviews I have seen, he nails what the FR-S is all about... It's nice to see that someone other than an "86" owner gets it

Study for finals, or watch this?

Hmmmmmm......

He is so passionate about our beloved car. This is the best review I've seen thus far. I loved the end when he described the car and the trip. Great job!

RaceR 12-11-2012 05:22 PM

Great trip! Nicely edited. Lots of awesomeness!

Rawdog 12-11-2012 11:02 PM

haha love the side boob reference to steering feel

Eckshero 12-11-2012 11:50 PM

cool vid

Thanks for posting.

Loved it, almost as good as Barcelona to Budapest!

Thanks for sharing... This video is great...

Everyone doubts the Mazda3 but I owned one identical for that one (except color) before my BRZ (2nd Gen, S model, Manaul, sunroof package) and it was vastly more competent than anyone thought.

Until I put the hurt down on a lot of big power cars on Daytona :)

When I first saw the post, I thought how boring another one of these- but this was good- entertaining and gave good objective insight. Thanks for the review. P.S. Initial D is my one of, if not my favorite anime series.

Loved the video. So happy that the car's essence has been captured. It was as though I made this video because I felt myself smiling and agreeing with almost every word as they were said.

Where Barcelona to Budapest is more rock and roll, this is more of a day in the life of an FR-S owner.

Definitely a resounding :thanks: Well worth watching and needs to be shared.

Well done. A review style probably best suited for my generation (born '80s and up) but with references for older generations and relatable to all car enthusiasts.

That was an awesome and honest review. I showed the part about practicality to my friend who has ridden in the back a few times, and he agreed whole heartedly about that bit.

I have the same exact Mazda 3 you described and boy it's a fun car. Mazda got the electro-hydraulic steering feel down brilliantly and the way the wheel jiggles with information is Porsche like (from driving a 997 Turbo).

Did you change the rear sway bar? I did do that and it was the single best mod I've ever made to any car I've owned.

racecaresuaceb 12-13-2012 11:23 PM

Actually no. It definitely might have helped the roll though.

Kido1986 12-13-2012 11:30 PM

If you still have it and want to upgrade, I still have mine; Mazdaspeed3 26mm rear bar with nearly brand new MS3 endlinks. Willing to sell it cheap :) (just taking up space in my garage)

Awesome video jsooke. The guy is really nice and humble.

Not like that subaruwrxfan guy. Watching him makes me want to punch him in the face.

Well done review. And thanks for the info on Initial D. Been watching it for free on Crackle. Takes me back to the old days of growing up watching speed racer, except this is a little more real. And is actually how I feel driving the BRZ now.lol

JSUB 12-23-2012 03:12 PM

Nice homemade review and journey which resume well the basic caracter of this car. Built to be affordable AND fun to drive!
Woohoo!

Captain Insano 12-23-2012 04:04 PM

Really long with a ton of repeated info, but overall I did like it. Does do a pretty good job describing the car.
