Recommend a good tire shop in LA/OC

I need to mount/balance and swap my TPMS. Looking around the South Bay (Socal) but farther then that would be alright. Any recommendations for places that charge a decent amount and can do the job properly would be great. Thanks!

In for a good shop!

I used to go to The Wheel Supply in Walnut - http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-wheel-supply-walnut - but they're too far for me now that I've moved out to Long Beach.

I've heard Discount Tires in Carson is good. At least recommended by guys over on s2ki. Then again i'm not sure how good the equipment at Discount would be and if they can do TPMS swaps

Discount Tires can be hit or miss depending on your tech at the time. When I used to go to the chain tire shops, I'd usually give my tire mounter a $20 or something beforehand so they take extra care when mounting to prevent any damage on your wheels. Any competent shop is able to swap TPMS though.

I used Chatsworth Tires. I've heard that the guy who helped me out isn't there anymore but I haven't verified that yet. But they did great work on my car. Swapped my TPMS sensors and even replaced the valve stems so I can swap my old wheels back on if needed. No sensors on those obviously. They even painted the wheel weights black so you couldnt see them on my new wheels. You can give them a call if you're interested. Mention FT86Club and they should be able to help you out.

Try Evasive Motorsports in Santa Fe Springs. That's where I went when I had mine done.

I was thinking about them but they are only open Mon-Fri and I have a feeling they would charge more then the typical tire shop

That's right, the downfall is that they're open M-F 9am-6pm and you have to make a reservation in advance coz they're always booked. As for the charge, try giving them a call. You'd be surprised.

Tire Central in San Gabriel are good guys. Open Mon-Sat 9am-6pm. Ask for Allen or David.

City tire in south gate is very legit. They do all of the tires for hankook sponsored drivers at FD events too.

Just a quick update. I went to MR Tire Solutions in the City of Industry, which they are a vendor on this forum. Mounted my new wheels without any scratches and swapped the tpms for a good price. Cheaper then the typical tire chain store and IMO are more careful.

I had a concern about a gash on one of my sidewalls and I felt they gave me an honest opinion. Didn't try to upsell me anything.
