Titanium Exhaust

Hey guys,
I've been searching for a titanium exhaust since picking up my car in October. I'm looking for weight reduction above all else and titanium is hands down the clear choice. However there are only a handful and all are outside my budget starting from $1300 and up. The cheapest option being the Isis axel back.

Here's some links to what i know is out or announced. There are a bunch out of japan but the import costs are prohibitive.

So... here's the question...

If you had the opportunity to turn any of the SS exhausts on the market into a titanium version, which one would it be? There are a few SS systems that produce good gains without being too loud, but they're all as heavy if not heavier than stock. Titanium would be the answer to the weight problem.

I've been talking to a few factories overseas that are OEM for most of the popular titanium exhaust brands and buying factory direct means about 65%-75% off MSRP if you can hit the average MOQ of 5 units. FYI standard mark up is 100% from the manufacturer and 100% from the retailer.

This post is just for market research. This is not a group buy feeler yet since i haven't decided on a style yet, i.e. single muffler vs dual muffler, axel back, vs cat back, burnt tips vs polished, etc...

So i'll open it up to you guys. What style would you make if you had the choice?

P.S. I can also get the Isis/Zero/TF style as it's a white label exhaust that anyone can buy and slap their logo on it, similar to the Takeda/Greddy/AFE intake.

SARD is the only dual pipe on this page that looks decent. Too many twists and turns and other crap for everything else. The whole point of getting an aftermarket exhaust is to increase airflow via straighter pipes(for the most part) not just wider pipping.

I'm prolly not getting an exhaust for this car because I feel as though the hp/tq gains aren't worth the cost or sound benefit. For me it was a no brainer with my GD STi because all of the Ti sysems were essentially the same.

But if I had to choose any exhaust it would be a single OE style/position muffler like the Ganador, Tommy or Revolution systems pictured.

We are waiting on our mufflers to show up. Once here we will be able to do single or dual exit

Ah...I don't think that is true.
And what do you consider to be good gains. You can only get so much from only a CB or AB.

The SARD looks awesome! I personally really don't like the huge single muffler with two tips so "if I was you" I'd get the SARD. If you're looking for power, have you considered a tune from someone like Visconti?

It absolutely isn't true. The SRT header-back going on my car is something like 17 lbs lighter than stock.

Tommy Kaira is by far the worst one I've ever heard for that much money. My eardrums were ready to bleed after hearing that rasp.

Based generally on the results and measurements from the Dsport exhaust shoot out, the largest gains came at the expense of loudness, and the quietest systems came at the expense of weight. Seems like quiet, light weight, and power gains are at odds with each other. These can normally be tamed by choosing a lighter material but that comes at the expense of cost... unless you go factory direct.

3" straight TBE to go with your turbo kit I hope. We need a full 3" exhaust for the people looking to go turbo.

If weight reduction is a primary concern, you can pretty much toss out any of the dual exit systems. They will raise the cost as well. For sheer weight reduction, 23 lbs, (and cost), it is hard to beat one of the muffler delete pipes available now, and they really aren't that loud on the street. I was originally only going to use mine for autocrossing, but left it on all summer since it wasn't as loud and annoying as I thought it would be.

I am leaning towards T1R +6~7whp, saves 27 lbs. I hope I will not get a heart attack when I see the price !
