Never understood this design of CAI, so now to clean or change the filter you have to take off the front bumper?

Yeah, but it's designed like how OEM actually picks up air. It actually brings in "cold air;" rather than engine temperature. There's a huge difference between 100°F and 300°F. Also, unlike other CAI for other cars, you don't have to worry about water getting into it.

Correct, the inlet tube is curved. However, the placement of the airbox on the 13-16s is different from the 17+.

The issue is that if you use the shorter 13-16 inlet tube on a 17, it pulls the airbox away from it's fresh air inlet from the front bumper.

What is the correct part number for 2017MY? Perrin's website list only PSP-INT-430BK /RD. But their compatibility charts reads 2013-2016 only.

It looks like they took the 17 specific one off their website. You might have to contact them directly.

The part number is PSP-INT-431, we don't have it on the website at the moment, since they are on backorder, but they are slowly trickling in, sorry about that!

Newbie Question

Just bought my first BRZ (2014 Premium with only 14K miles). The previous owner has done some mods including adding this Perrin Intake Duct. However the smaller tube connection is blocked off with a plug. What is that connection for? Should I be concerned it is removed? And note that I'm not talking about the tube and hardware that pumps sound into the passenger compartment. That is removed as expected. Thanks in advance for any guidance. Looking forward to learning a lot from this forum!

The small tube go to the cabin to produce induction noise, if its plugged your good to go and dont worry about it

Had mine installed now for about a week. I can tell the difference inside, it is a lot quieter. The hose clamps that were supplied didn't fit which is pretty annoying considering Perrins experience but it's easy enough to get different hose clamps. The red doesn't match the '17 intakes red but it isn't bad looKing. https://i.imgur.com/sTWKvaj.jpg
