Attn anyone who got the port installed tint from southeast toyota
 

Mine is lighter than i thought it would be. I think all the states they service have 35% as legal but the sticker on my window says something like digifilm 47% or something along those lines. Is this 47% total or does it combine with the slight factory tint to make it 35%?

Combined with 3%, the 47% should be about 45% (97% * .47).

I wouldn't expect them to take it to the legal limit since it could result in people getting pulled over/cited.

they do different lvls per car. me and my friend both got factory tint, but mine is darker and has a different cutout around the break light

port as in the left side?

Man... now I'm picturing his car with red/green nav lights in the directionals.

yeah mine has the cutout around the break light too. the one i test drove didn't have that cutout and if i'm remembering correctly, looked darker. that was the car i based my desicion off of to get the tint, it doesn't seem right that they don't have a standard. we all payed the same amount, how is it fair we get different products?

Sometimes the tint is installed at the port and sometimes the dealer has an installer do the job. In my opinion the dealer installed tint is usually a better installation. My car was done by the dealer and there is not a cutout for the break light but my buddies was done at the port and he has a cut out.

Distributor Installed Florida Tint
 

My FR-S has Distributor Installed, Florida Tint. I assume that is darker than the multi-state legal tint. Anyway, it is dark and the stop light hole is cut out.

I would not have ordered tint but it is there and it is nice during the day. On unlit streets at night it is a bit dangerous. Being tall, my seat is almost all the way back so my field of vision out of the windshield is narrow. When winding around corners through unlit neighborhoods, I won't see a pedestrian until they are right in front of me.
