Car fuel pump on...

I get home at 5pm. Nothing weird there. Well, I go back outside at 10 pm because I like cold weather and stars. The odd thing here is I hear a motorized noise coming from my car. When I walk up to it and bend down, it sounds like its coming from the rear. I go inside to get my keys (its locked) and when I get back, the noise is gone. Is there some new ECU parameter set to turn the fuel pump on to keep the ethanol from separating or is this something else?

It's normal. This was brought up a few times. If I recall correctly, it is relieving air pressure build up. I will look for the link to another thread now that mentions this.

Ha! What are the odds I'd walk outside just in time to hear that low wine. Good nuff apparently. Ty

The keys weren't in right? Probably fuel evaporative emissions control system.

This is why you should actually read the owners manual, since it quite clearly warns you that this may happen.
