So, after almost two months of owning this car, I have decided to make my own chronicle.

Just a quick flashback of when and how I acquired this car . . .
I have gone to several dealerships around So Cal just to catch a glimpse of this marvelous car. Every time I stop by, I was told that 1) they’re sold out , 2) you have to make a reservation if you want to have the car and 3) you have to wait for 2-3 months before you can pick up your car. With these in mind, I thought that I wouldn’t be able to see this car or even purchase one before the year ends.

Then one fateful afternoon after work, my wife and I decided to stop by for dinner at La Crescenta and that’s where I spotted the car at the Toyota dealership. I wanted to stop by on the way home and we did. My wife stayed in the car coz I was just looking. I checked out the car, talked to the salesman, Marcus, and told him that I have no plans of buying. Then, I headed back to my car and told my wife how nice the car was. Upon hearing my admiration for the FR-S, she stepped out of the car, talked to the salesman, and convinced me to have a test drive. So, I test drove the car, went back to the dealership and said “I AM BUYING THIS CAR”. That day was October 12, 2012.

I would have wanted a Firestorm but they didn’t have one in stock. Since there was no guarantee as to when I will get a Firestorm and I wanted to get the car so badly, I decided to take the Hot Lava instead and I wasn’t disappointed. I did all the paper works with Marcus that night. The next day, he delivered the car to my place.

Here are some of the pics I took on the day it was delivered.

The car came with some added features. It’s not something I wanted but they came with the car. The dealer had the Bespoke audio system installed, carpet mats(5pc set), 20% tint at rear windshield and passenger windows, Scion sticker at rear bumper.

I also asked the dealer to install custom leather seats on both front seats and back seats.

I purchased the Toyota Finishing Touch package which protects my paint and interiors. Hopefully, it’s all worth it.

Next project were the Hella Horns, TRD exhaust system, Beat Sonic shark fin antenna and HID head lights/interior and trunk LEDs installed by La Crescenta Toyota dealership. (wasn’t able to take pics of the installed horns and LEDs)

BOYCE I've been secretly thinking you need to create a post about your ride. This is a great chronicle! Too bad I already know how it looks. ;)

Another Hot Lava owner. Nice choice, it's good you didn't wait and jumped on it when you wanted it. And kudos to your wife for knowing how much you liked it and convincing you to take that test drive!

LOL. Thanks. I wasn't thinking of making one but my buddy from Evasive posted a pic of my ride so might as well make one.

Are you still on for BW track this weekend? I might drop by if time permits. I would have loved to join you but I have already made plans in the afternoon that day.

Have fun!

Two weeks driving the car, I felt that it lacked power. Don’t get me wrong. I like the car but it didn’t have the kick that I expected. By reading reviews in this forum, I learned that by simply changing the flywheel pulley, throttle response, horsepower and torque are increased. I tried emailing motorsports stores in So Cal but since it was the SEMA week, it took them awhile to respond. The first that responded was Evasive Motorsports and they got my business.

I ordered the Perrin pulley from Evasive Motorsports and while waiting for its arrival, I decided to drive down to Evasive’s showroom in Santa Fe Springs, CA to check on the wheels and one thing led to the other. These guys are the best!

Did you have to mess with the camber at all for the wheels and tires?

Evasive Motorsports did the work on the car and I don't think they did.

I love the chargespeed kit, classy yet aggressive. Excellent wheel/tire selection as well. I approve of this car.
