Remove intake sound pipe tube?

Does this effect power or breathablity at all?

I see a lot of people take them off and just wanted to know if there is any reason to take them off other then some dont like the cabin noise?

Looks mainly. Doesn't affect power. You can buy the items to remove it at Lowe's for less than $10.

You can actually go to home depot/lowes and do it for like $10.. I got the plug that goes into the fire wall for like $1.80 for 2.

Which basically could've been from any other type of variance that may not have been related, i.e. warmer temps, less airflow, e.t.c., to the sound tube.

Take it off. The only thing you'll notice is it's quieter when you're north of 3500 rpm's.

What did you use? I want to plug it at the firewall so I can rip out all of it's accessories.

I made a custom set of plugs. Here's my write up on it with all the dimensions.
