1st gen 225/45R17 Michelin Pilot Sports on stock wheels.

Looking forward to some 17x8/17x9 RPF1s with sticky tires at some point in the future.

BTW, the results are up from SD on the 18th:

Z1 Star Spec, and the grip is ridiculous for a street tire. Hold out for the Z2s if you can, they look wicked. Hankook RS3 is also a hot tire. Probably faster, but less life.

I was on RS3's for that race, although I would recommend the Dunlop Z1 over the RS3, as they are competitive in more varied conditions than the RS3. I just happened to have an old set of RS3s sitting in the garage.

Dunlop Star Spec - 215/45-17, I've used them on another car in the past and have been happy with them. I'm planning on picking up a set of the new Star Spec II's for my Mini when they are released in a few months.

I have used a bunch of different tires on my WRX in the past (RT-615, Re01R, Star Specs, and whatever those super expensive tires are the come on a new Evo (got them used for free with a little life left over)).

This year, I'm going to just run the stock tires to start out, get used to the car and be cheap for a bit.
If I feel the urge to do something different, I'll swap wheels with my WRX, which currently has 255/40 17 Kumho Ecsta something or other, AST maybe ? they aren't super sticky, but they are wide and probably heavy.
They worked okay on the WRX without being superglue-like (the WRX squeals and squirms no matter what tires you put on it though, unless you go to something really sticky).
....Unless maybe someone locally is unloading a used set of something really nice for really cheap, then maybe I'll go a little nuts.

We'll see when the spring comes :D

245/40/17 R-S3s on 17x9

I might jump up to 255 once these tires are toast.

for my mx-5 STR car, I ran RS-3 the first year, and star spec Z1s the second year. I ended up liking the star specs more than the RS-3s. I will be buying the new Star spec Z2s in the spring for the FRS

245/40-17 Star Specs on 17x8 Enkei wheels.
