For me its just useless stuff on the car. I like a super clean and simple engine bay, and this thing does not contribute to performance or convenience in any way, so I got rid of it. This car is meant to be super simple, basic, and functional. Though this thing does not really "take away" anything, it's just the concept of its pointlessness that people don't like.

One of the reasons I went Scion over Subaru, I bought this to be a drivers car, and leather and HID's are not important to me. Some people they are. Sound tube is fine for those who like it, but I find it unsightly and pointless, so it got the boot.

Augmented breasts have never left me feeling cheated...

Fake boobs are gross. So is the sound tube.

It's kind of like "faking it" to make someone feel good about themselves. lol

Personally I'm not a fan of the synthetc noises some of the newer "performance" cars are getting... But I'd be too lazy to remove it.. I would definately prefer the option though ? Would be great to save a few bucks and let them keep their silly tube.

I think the act of installing one is an admission in itself that the car is missing something. Why not just give it what it's missing rather than pretending ? Because... it would cost more.

One day we'll buy cars with factory altered speedometers that tell us we're doin 300 mph and funnel in indy track car noises and blow high powered fans in our faces as pedestrians pass us while we cruise through a school zone.

Thanks! That was an awesome explanation.

No prob. I saw another post that you lease, so mods prob aren't something you will get into but it's still good to know what that eyesore is under the hood. Everything else can stay.

Do I think it's necessary at all? Not really. But it sounds cool and I don't have a problem with it.

I got the blue changer off someone on these forums (before I realized it would simply be better to remove it) because I was tired of having to adjust the music to hear it over the engine noise. I appreciate being able to hear my stereo when I want to now. If I want to hear the engine, I turn off/down the stereo.
