To those ppl who bought the car out of state.

So my car is getting the oil changed soon. When I ask my local subaru dealer about oil changes, they mentioned I had to purchase a service contract since I did not buy the car from there. I'm just wondering how much you guys paying in terms of this service contract.

WiKKiD 11-26-2012 12:55 PM

That's bullshït. Tell them to change the oil if not call another dealer.

Instead of calling another dealer I would call corporate and see if you can get a straight, honest answer.

This is not a policy they have. Any dealer you take your vehicle to will be more then happy to help and make sure your happy as the need you as a customer.

Yeah fyi i went to stohlman subaru. They're really eh imo. I'm currently getting my GPS fixed there, and I had to bring in the car multiple times because they "forgot" to order the SD card for the GPS update and now theyre asking for a service contract for the oil change.

I'm might just go to another dealership in the future, but for now i'm going to call corporate later.

Your dealer is shit. Find another one.

call the corp offices. I had to do the same but for warranty received the car with 600 miles on it from a dealer in NY and I bought the car from a dealer in PA. they didn't want to extend the warranty so I called corp had it fixed the next day. I hope more ppl call about this car. the more I read the more problems I see this car is having. hope they have a giant recall give us all new cars with more power and maybe a turbo !

I called subaru of america. the official stance for oil changes is it up to the dealer to do the oil change for free or not.

That is entirely fucked up. Go to a different dealership, sounds like they're just being penny-pinching ****heads. I haven't had mine in yet but I bought my FRS 3 hours away from home and was told multiple times that I can get my service done free at any Toyota/Scion dealer in the country.
