This is my boy Brian putting in work at the last event for Nashville's Super Speedway. Sad to see this track shut down. Guess we have to go to Alabama now to get our race fix.

awesome car! how can it be so fast?

spin9k 11-19-2011 10:34 AM

Nice turbo sound, smooth driving. Things I notice... understeer in the twisties, and your steering rack is s-l-o-w, not that there's anything wrong with that :) , it's a sedan. But wait til (if) you get an FT-86. I'm sure steering will be oh so much faster, like in m y RX-8. I remember it takes a bit of getting used to it, it's so sharp feeling compared to normal cars. Just a little twitch and you'll be around the corner quicker than snap ;)

Maybe you should race in modified class to really see how fast you are, dragonitti... plenty of boosted guys down there... you know, to put things in perspective.

Lol...we grew 2 extra doors! And this is not my tC, this is my boy Brian's, I said that in the original post. My tC is about 2-2 1/2secs faster than his due to him being on street tires and no Aero, whereas I have Aero, weigh less and run on R-compounds. We make roughly the same power.

Guys...lol this is not my tC… This is Brian's tC, he is in my crew. Its straight up street car and its running street tires, full interior. It is not setup as aggressive as mine. Its a DD street tC. Stock motor and 10psi of boost. Rides on 18inch ROTA's with 245 wide dunlop street tires when at the track.

And we do run in advanced group during HPDE and I run in Modified during competition. They changed the rules toward the end of the season though causing us to run in Intermediate. This run group in the vid is intermediate. New rules stated we have to have a cage to run in advanced now, due to free open passing.

I know where mine sits in terms of speed though. It has the power to weight ratio of a Z06 Vette, with some decent drivers behind the wheel.

PS...come on though, you didn't honestly think we run with guys below are class do you? That would be a disastrous situation! That is endangering yourself for the sake of trying to look cool...trust me, we run in the proper groups.

Which club are you racing with, NASA? SCCA? Do they class by power/weight and drivetrain? Also, you ran in a competition class without a cage!?!? Scary, lol. I thought it was mandated that you had to have a full cage, complete with door bars to run wheel to wheel competition class anywhere...

Any plans of caging it? and... why haven't we seen any videos of you running comp class? Sounds awesome.

Competition I'm referring to Time Attack. I haven't done any wheel-to-wheel competition yet. Time Attack does not require a cage if you are not in Unlimited.

We have ran SCCA when it comes to AutoX, HPDE days are done through various organizations (TracksUnlimited, MusicCityMustang club...etc.). It boils down to who rent out the track basically. Porsche Club has done two track days here where I worked both of them.

Next season I should have some competition vids with NASA, maybe GTA. Most likely GTA, cause I heard I would be put in a ridiculous class in NASA based on my cars current PWR. Guys I run with that are NASA members said I will be screwed. So, perhaps just GTA. Especially when I want more another 100-150whp. I've been without a camera for quite some time, and only recently got a new one.

This is Brian's tC. 310whp/3xxwtq (Mustang Dyno)

Cool beans. Yea I've heard NASA does class turbo in modified class, same as engine swap... and then it's based on power/weight, so yes, you would be screwed :) haha. It levels out the playing field though. It does suck for the honda guys that swap engines left and right though, I hear, since the modified class is much more serious than stock.

So are you caging it? Also, what is GTA, I've never heard of it. It might be a good time to look into what's allowed and what's not in your class, so you don't make any expensive mistakes..

I'm thinking of running in Honda Challenge if I ever get to the point of throwing a cage in. Can't really DD it at that point, though :( I'm gonna try and get some seat time at NJMP, when funds allow.

I don't think I would be screwed to much if I built the motor and added in the upgrades I "really" want to do. But I'm not sure if NASA separates based on drivetrain too. If they don't then yeah it would be an uphill battle. But against other FF's, I think I would hold my own.

Eventually it will be caged. That will be the day I no longer drive it on the street. GTA is Global Time Attack. They are picking up steam more and more since Redline Time Attack sold the east coast out (they only do West Coast now..bastards!).

I don't really care though on class to be honest. What I have envisioned for the car would make it an Unlimited class car eventually. I will eventually make it up to NJMP too.

Let me know when you go down to NJMP, if you do. I wanna see what the hype is about :happy0180:
