Navigation loads duplicate songs from USB

Hi Guys,

Any idea why the OEM Subaru Navigation loads up duplicate songs when you copy mp3s to a usb stick to play in the car? I notice version is actually playable whereas the other is not. Any way around this? Seems a bit odd and annoying when scrolling through songs you gotta scroll down past the versions of the file that doesn't work to get to the one that does work??:iono:

Anyone? I'm sure someone has ran into this issue before? BTW the versions that don't play have a dot before the name. Strange really and can't find any info on it via the web. Thinking about calling Subaru.

Those could be temp files that are normally hidden, show all files on your computer with the stick plugged in, delete anything that's not a music file or cover art.

Reformatted and still had the same issue and also deleted hidden files as well. Seems to be something to do with the way the mp3 is encoded because not all the mp3s do this. Would love to get the optimal settings so I know how to get rid of the annoying files!

Strangely enough I have the same issue your describing but on my pioneer x940bt , the unplayable duplicates starts with an underscore like "_nameofsong" this is when I use a microsd card. I never tried to find a solution, so this post is not that helpful. But if I come across one ill share

I don't have your issue, but I do have one like it. I have to put in and pull out the USB stick 2-3 times to get it playing right.

I even sent an email to SOA with a link to my vid of the problem. They said they are researching my problem....
