Note: "Auto" does not start BRZ

This is so stupid It has to be told. (maybe I can blame it on the Turkey...)
Coming back from Thanksgiving yesterday, I came to a stop at a busy intersection when for some reason I stalled the car, there was another car on my ass that wanted across the intersection and in the panic I could not get the car restarted - kept pushing the button with the clutch pushed in and I was freaking out!:iono:. It was then that my wife calmly asked why I kept pushing the "Auto" button instead of the "Start" button:bonk:

Ha. The "auto" button is above the "start" button and turns the heating / AC to auto temp when you hit it. (No matter how many times you hit it - it will NOT start the car! lol)

It was a busy intersection and I think the guy behind me wanted to get across with me while the coast was clear, but I kinda messed it up for him. Hope he cut me some slack as I still have the temp tags, so maybe he realized its a new ride I am still getting familiar with.

I can say I got out of there as fast as I could to put some distance between the two of us.

Ps - I'm still pissed that I stalled the damn car! :mad0260:

Don't feel bad about stalling out. I drive a manual every day and I still stalled out mine once on the trek home from the dealer. The clutch is so much lighter than anything I've driven before.

Since then, I've let about a dozen people drive mine for a few miles each, and all but a few of them killed it at least once.

I find myself doing the same thing..not sure what I thinking at the time...maybe "auto start" so I hit auto, that the car is an auto? I can also confirm the car does not start when you hit auto! LOL

The same exact thing happened to me yesterday too. Ha ha. I'm pissed I stalled it out, as well. I felt like an rookie. Ah well.

I could totally see myself doing this.

I drove my girlfriend's Versa tonight. When we stopped the car, I fumbled around in the HVAC area looking for the non-existent Start/Stop button.
