MXP Stainless Steel exhaust installed, music to my ears
1 Attachment(s)
I got the MXP in today from No Limit Motorsport, i already had a test pipe from Motiv and it bolted up very easily using the stock hardware and gaskets. Total install time on the lift was about 20 minutes and most of that was adjusting the tips, that was using hand tools also an air or electric ratchet would have made it even quicker.
I love the sound, it is very deep and has a bass-like quality that there is no way computer speakers can reproduce, i'm going to have my brother help me with videos tomorrow when i go over for Thanksgiving. It's not raspy at all and no drone that i have heard yet. Sounds great when you get up over 4000 rpms and i think even if i add a header it will still be reasonably quiet. I will be getting the Motiv overpipe as well next, i don't think it will change the sound much but should add a few hp. Speaking of hp you can feel a difference with this over the stock catback, i attribute it to actually getting the gains from my test pipe now since it may have been a little bottled up with the stock system. I will be sending some new logs to FA20Club to see if i need a new file now but i will be changing some stuff on my intake also so i might wait until those parts are here. Thanks again to Adam at No Limit Motorsport, he made sure i got the exhaust before the holiday and shipped it from NY monday and got it here today! |
Mine came today too. Ill be installing it tomorrow. Looks beautiful. Big thanks to Adam!

Joe did you have any alignment issues with the tips being uneven at all? Mine is giving me trouble with the right tip being lower than the left.
|
Check all your hangers and make sure none are bent, my car was way offset on one side of the alignment after i lowered it. Honestly i think some car's aren't "square" off the showroom. No problem on my tips though.

Looking forward to your vid clips joe!

I heard enough in the sound clips i heard to make the decision and after reading the DSport article stating it had the highest quality construction i was sold. I'm a sucker for nice welds and they definitely did a good job, the thing is built to last. |
Awesome. Would like to see some close ups of the welding

It's right up there with the Motiv stuff as far as weld quality, very nicely done i'll get some more pics up i need to upload them and resize since that one i posted is a little big. I also like having stuff that a little different than everybody else and i hadn't seen many people with this one.
I don't like the look of the dual muffler kits like the EVO3 and Invidia N1, i like this design and you can definitely tell a difference with the good ol "butt" dyno. After my intake stuff gets here i'm going to send some new logs in but it's almost there power wise for me. With the intake and overpipe on and new tune i'm going to be good to go on engine mods for a while. |
Joe, I hope you don't mind me posting my photos in here. I thought it would be redundant to make a new thread.
Install was very easy. Took about an hour in the cold with jack stands only. I could have been quicker too with all the tools laid out ahead of time. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...001/photo1.jpg Just after install before lowering back down. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...001/photo2.jpg Joe is spot on about the welds. Very nice quality. My dad is a sheetmetal worker and had nothing but positive things to say about the system. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/photo3-1.jpg I wanted an exhaust that split to a Y at the axle. Just seems like a better design. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/photo4-1.jpg This was before adjusting the tips. The tips are a slip joint similar to the other piping. Very easy to get just right, and no worries about the tips sticking out too far past the bumper. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/photo5-1.jpg The tips are beautiful and pretty big. I was never a huge fan of burnt tips but these are fantastic. They're very solid too...maybe even a little heavy for those who are looking for the ultimate lightweight system. The sounds is perfect. It's not loud nor too quiet. The sound is deep and mellow. There is no drone even when off the gas at higher rpm. I'm excited to hear it with a header/overpipe/frontpipe in the future. For now, it sounds amazing, and I highly recommend it. I'll try to get a video together if I can. If anyone wants more photos, I'd be more than happy to take some. |
