however, as u already mentioned, it's all about handling and getting back to basics with this car.

why don't u go test drive it and see where ur heart point u to?

How's the ride so far??:w00t:

Was tempted to but in the end went for the same size for all four corners just to keep the ride balance. Our cars don't have a lot of power to overcome this issue like those heavily modified drift cars with staggered setup. But if you're just going for the looks then go ahead. I also do think that the car will look great with the staggered setup. :w00t:

what rims did u get? can share the offset and tyres as well?

i'm thinking of getting the work emotion rims.. 18x8.5 all round but front +47 and rear +38 with 225/40 front 245/35 rear. i think this will flush better than 18x9.5 rears

haha and getting 8.5 all round, i can revert to same size later on if i want too

I'm got a spare set so decided to fix it up. It's the wedsports Sa-55m. 17 7.5jj offset 40. But thinking of changing it to te-37 or rota ikr coz I want a wider rim. Preferably at least 8jj with offset of 35 so at least the rear wheels can flush with the body. Oh and I'm using potenza re070. The tires make a lot of difference compared to stock. Able to turn in with a lot of confidence while giving a more predictable slide when the rear start to lose tractions. Oh btw where did you order the antennae from?

i wanna get the goodyear F1A2 tyres.. really love them on the golf. and i see many of the peeps here fitting 18x9.5 +38 at the rear.. but some of the pics seem to be jutting out a bit.. +35 can flush?

i got it from beat-sonic, where most of the peeps here got it from.. direct from japan

I think jutting out can be corrected by camber adjustment.

jonbatz01 08-15-2012 10:22 AM

18 x 9.5 +38 all around would work depending what size tyres you want to use.

jonbatz01 08-15-2012 10:23 AM

Hi BTW.

Im located in Perth but actually from SG :)

twitism 08-15-2012 01:29 PM

i'm getting the goodyear F1A2 tyres. already ordered 18x8.5 +47 front and 18x9.5 +38 rear.

anyway i'm sourcing for KW V3 coilovers... anyone here interested do PM me :)

Surok 08-15-2012 09:05 PM

ahhhh, i see i see..
you know happen to know if a SG citizen living in another country can bring a car back to SG with them when they return to SG?
i might bring my 86 with me if i can.

update: all this COE business is scary.. i think i will just keep ownership of the 86 in australia and fly back every month to drive it.

you still end up paying tax on ur car + COE.....ultimately it will come up to the same or more unfortunately.

Lose lose for u, Win win for the Government.:bonk:

sazu 08-16-2012 10:23 PM

Hi Surok. Welcome to SG.

This COE system sucks !!! I mean literally suck us big time. The way I see it, it's just revenue for the garmen. Quite a lot of debate about the COE recently. Hope they scrap this COE thingy or at least bring it down to a level where many can afford.

If I were u, I'd stay put in Aus.

Surok 08-18-2012 07:43 PM

or sell up and just ride a bicycle for rest of my life in SG :'(

I think I will keep the 86 in OZ and drive it when i fly home to see my friends.

I saw it there when I went to check about the HKS exhaust. Not sure if people will buy it coz I believe toyota would provide a better after sales support. eg oem parts.

twitism 10-17-2012 08:38 PM

The car is so heavily taxed. This does not even include the maintenance of the cars.
