oh my.... i also registered but no one called me..... so the price range is around there.... from 180-200k......

hanabie 03-15-2012 01:52 PM

you guys are really rich lol.. I would not even spend that much if my salary is 100k+ annually.
To me, exotic cars in singapore are only used to show off and pick up chics.. not so much a driving experience.

just my 2 cents

i know what you meant... i have a colleague who just came back from the States from studies.... he mentioned to me that after his stint there, he really feels the large difference in cost of sg's cars...... and he had stopped his car changing habit since he is back.... :party0030:

I heard that is Motor Image boss's car.

Good news that it has passed LTA test and is ready to be on the road. They seems to be having a launch party at 4th April.

Bad news is that the BRZ start at SGD 178,000. You have to sell your organs just to buy the COE. :bonk:

agree.... imagine if only COEs were 10k... sure hoot

FeLcRoN 03-21-2012 10:58 PM

Scion FR-S price just announced at $24K and the whole thread is bursting with people complaining the price is too expensive, blah blah blah.

Wait till they see our price and they will know what is exorbitant!

Autumnkoup 03-26-2012 01:27 PM

agree.... i don't think they will believe us...

hanabie 03-26-2012 01:43 PM

I do! LOL...

Making good money, and migrate to US. Then, you can drive almost any car you want :).
That would be pretty cool, lulz. For that price $178,000 you can get a 911 GT3 here :bonk::bonk:

MarksmanR 04-07-2012 03:42 AM

Wow if this car costs $170k SGD that = $130k AUD... is the average annual income really high in Singapore? Because that is a super high price!

Hopefully cars will get much cheaper in Singapore.

I've learn a new word recently. Burgernomics ;) Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but i was told the meaning of it was you can roughly judge the cost of living of a country by knowing how much a McDonald burger meals cost.

A McDonald Big Mac meal in Singapore cost S$7.10 (AU$5.45).

FireHorse 04-18-2012 10:16 AM

COE $91k
can kiss goodbye to GT86 liao
it will cost almost $200k in Singapore to buy this beauty
sigh!

cluboxed 05-01-2012 01:34 PM

i tink it is priced at 183k

For that price, I think the BMW 3 Series and such would be a better bet. Plus better resale value too...

See many on the road yet?!

320i is about $35k more at $218k
then add about $30k to each jump to the next spec.. i.e. 328i and 335i

Drift-Office 05-10-2012 11:20 PM

It was $183k at the launch party right? With COE going up it's more like $200k? At that price, wouldn't the 3 series be a better buy?

Motor Image (and their Toyota counterparts there) would LOVE to use that as an excuse, and when I was there earlier this year, they even said it's $5k ("because we have to indent them") more for a MT model when it's clearly the cheaper of the two variants...

Only in Singapore I guess. :)

sazu 05-14-2012 05:39 AM

Guys, do u think the 86 price will drop to below 140k? Since the champion LTY announced bout some good news for COE. Check sgcarmart tdy, BRC price drop from 190k to 185k.

i feel the BRZ price drop was not coz of the COE but because of how borneo priced the 86

I dunno about "much more" affordable - but I hear there's a ton of TV commercials for the BRZ on Starhub cable...

None of my friends have seen one on the road yet... anyone?

liquidsky44 07-16-2012 03:03 AM

rockyslow 07-18-2012 01:14 PM

the golf is an awesome car. i wouldn't have switched it for any others. 230bhp from a 1.4 engine! where else to find such good power/liter ratio?

but.. u only live once, i need and i want to drive a proper sports coupe before i can't

I think there is a few websites u can get it. But from what I understand our antenna base come equip with the gps antenna as well. So I'm not sure if you'll be able to retain that function if you change it to the shark fin type.

liquidsky44 07-19-2012 07:02 AM

For workshop maybe you can try spt. Coz they're quite familiar with Subarus. And partially they're good with our boxer engines.

hi bro, do you think it is a wise choice for me to get 86 for the next car, i just sold my beloved mkv gti, i know there's lot about its' awesome handling (not possible for gti to have such of the handling no matter the modding is), the downside is the bhp & torque which i'm pretty sure there will be aftermarket upgrade/modding in the near future.

cheers!

seriously, it depends on what you are looking for in the next car. definitely, coming from a golf, the 86 will feel underpowered and smaller.

however, as u already mentioned, it's all about handling and getting back to basics with this car.

why don't u go test drive it and see where ur heart point u to?
