Cricket TSB - Local insight needed

Anyone local take their car in for the Cricket TSB? Get my car back within the next 30 days and wondering if it's worth taking it in.... I need to get an oil change anyway so I could set up an appointment in advance. Thoughts? Comments?
:thanks:

In the other forum with the big long thread the consensus is that most folks getting it done have had the crickets return.

I'm not going to bother with it until I hear the TSB actually fixes the problem.

I had the TSB done, only to have the chirping come back after a few hundred miles. I brought it in again just to let them document that it has come back and they (doxon in Auburn) called in a regional toyota tech to look at it. He pulled the batch info from the pump and sent it to Toyota. I assume once they iron out a real fix they will call me back.

This explains why Scion of Kirkland told me backorder on the HPFP, they probably stopped production if there isn't a legitimate fix.

I've been holding off also. I've read a few "it came back" and a bunch of "is fine now" so meh.... who knows. LOL I figure it is not a danger to anything, so I decided to wait till next spring and see what is going on with it. At least give the techs some practice doing the swap before I take mine in.

I think Digital Assassin had his done recently, not sure of his results.

Hmmmmm interesting. I'll hold off on it then. Another thing I need to ask toyota about is when I got rear ended all my sensors went off but my airbags didn't deploy. So I need to figure out why that happened. I also have a Map error CEL.

I've had crickets for 1700 miles, but am in no hurry to fix them, because I've heard mixed results as well.

digital_assassin 11-20-2012 07:02 PM

I've had the TSB done and no more crickets... yet. I've put about 500 miles on it since getting it back. I had Broadway Toyota do the TSB. Talk to Mark.

Looking forwards to seeing if it stays that way kevin!

my new fuel pump is sitting at the dealership waiting on me so ive decided to go ahead and do it since the car has to go in for a couple of other things as well

Fascist Fish 11-22-2012 01:46 AM

I got mine fixed just like 300 miles ago. Nothing yet, but mine was also a mild cricket compared to what I have read

killa.sushi.robot 11-22-2012 02:18 AM

Crickets came back stronger and more frequent for me, day after it was replaced. I can't take a single drive now without it. Need to take it back to my dealer to note it.

NickFRS 11-27-2012 06:32 PM

Well for the purpose of helping the repair process Gresham toyota is ordering the replacements for me. Looks like after my car gets out of the shop it will go back into the shop. lmao.
