How long did it take from deposit to delivery?

I'm getting pretty impatient waiting for my FRS, I put my $500 deposit down on september 13th and haven't gotten any real sort of ETA from my dealership apart from "90-120 days from the deposit date" and "the next FRS we get in will be yours".

As you can probably imagine, i'm getting frustrated with the lack of communication. I realize the dealership is at the disposal of Toyota and they will get it when they get it, but seriously, they should be able to give a better estimate then 90-120 days.

I ran into one of the few FRS owners in my town and he said he waited 6 months  but he ordered it as soon as they opened up the order forms.

So my question to you all, how long did you wait from the time you put your money down, to the time you actually had the keys?

September 16th Deposit
November 11th Arrival

Was waiting for a Whiteout, dealer called asking if I would like to view a Firestorm that was in stock. Arrived at the dealer and couldn't say no to it.

Thats kind of the ballpark i was expecting for all the preorders as i expected those to take a bit longer.

That gives me a bit of hope, although being that i'm in a relatively small town (30k people) i'm sort of doubting there will be any that are unclaimed around me for a while.

I did that right before i put my deposit down in september. The closest manual ultramarine was in southern california and i really didn't want to drive that far. Maybe i'll take another stab at it tonight and see what i come up with.

You can always look around for other ones while you wait...

I put on order in early Oct and got a VON but no VIN and then a couple of weeks later I found one out of state coming in 2 weeks that I put a deposit on and planned to buy/ship, but while getting the order lined up a couple of days later I kept checking Autotrader and one night I found one locally that someone else refused, so the next morning I went to see it, got them to drop the market adjustment and I bought it at MSRP and was driving it home way before I expected.

If I had not done that I would still be waiting for the out of state one to arrive on a truck, nevermind the order at the local dealer who I personally like, but who Subaru hasn't been able to tell them when my car would show up (probably May).

Use that impatience to keep looking for another car to popup :eyebulge: worked well for me :P

My ultramarine took Just over 2 weeks, the salesman found one in port of Oregon in august ,that was supposed to go to another dealer as stock.

Deposit - Mid Sept
Picked up - Nov 2nd.

Could have had one earlier but i wanted an AT Raven.

I think the more honest or knowledgeable dealers will say about 5 months if you wait for the car you order to arrive. Any faster than that and I believe they are just getting one from another dealer somewhere.

Everything any dealer has coming in most likely already has a list of people to call first, as well as the fact that bigger volume dealers will get more to begin with. If you live in a small farm town in Kansas for example, your chances of waiting for that local dealer to get stock is virtually nil.

Deposit - 4/20
Delivered - 6/28 I believe
