Smell after highflow cat?

Just got a Invidia catted frontpipe & Q300 installed. Car smells really funky now, wondering if that's normal for people who's upgraded the cat. Thanks!

Smells like something burning? If so that's normal. My N1 catback did the same thing. It'll smoke a bit too.

Cool, thanks for the replies!

Normal burnoff of oils etc. My new cat-back smelled for a few days after install.

It will smell for the first 100 miles about. It is the smell of the lubricating machine oils from manufacturing burning off from inside the pipe. Its normal and will go away after a little bit of driving.

Even the cat brick itself will smell when its first heat cycles. Plus any lubricating oil used during install, anti-seize, and cutting oil during manufacturing. Even parts and shipping labels. Give it a hundred miles or so.

What they said. Perfectly normal!
